GOVERNOR ROBERT L. EHRLICH ENDORSES
HOLLY HENDERSON FOR MD STATE DELEGATE

(Fort Washington, MD) – Maryland Governor Robert L. Ehrlich announces his endorsement of Holly Ellison Henderson, a Republican running for Maryland State Delegate (District 26 – Prince George’s County). Henderson, the lone Republican candidate, running unopposed will advance to the general election on November 2.

“Holly has what it takes to be a true bi-partisan representative in the Maryland General Assembly,” said former Governor Robert L. Ehrlich. “I’ve seen her work first-hand with Democrats, Republicans, riders, citizens and businesses on various transportation issues in the State. She is the best candidate to fight for the needs of Southern Prince George’s County residents.”

A public affairs and transportation services professional, Henderson served her first gubernatorial appointment for the Ehrlich Administration as Deputy Director for the Office of Communications and Business Relations for the Maryland Aviation Administration at BWI Marshall Airport from 2003-2005. She was later promoted to Director for the Office of Public Information for the Maryland Transit Administration from 2005-2008, where she also served as Executive Producer and Host of a monthly, seven-time nationally awarded cable television show “In Touch With the MTA” and two weekly radio shows, “This Week with the MTA” and “MTA Meet the Experts.”

Henderson was project manager for the Pentagon’s Rest and Recuperation (R&R) program at BWI Marshall for U.S. troops returning from Iraq and Afghanistan. She also led the communications effort working with elected officials for the Policy Usage Steering Committee after legislation was passed to rename BWI to honor the late Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall. The Airport name recognized the contributions of civil rights leader Marshall, the first African American justice on the U.S. Supreme Court.

Born in Prince George’s, and a 15 year county resident, Henderson earned her Master of Science degree in Transportation from Morgan State University.

Along with her husband, Michael, a federal contract specialist, Ms. Henderson resides in Fort Washington with their son, Paul.

Prince George’s Republican Party Announces Twenty-Four Candidates for Fall 2010

Lanham, MD – Today the Prince George’s Republican Central Committee and PG PAC announced its twenty-four Republicans candidates for the fall 2010 elections.

Representing all corners of the county, eight candidates are representing five legislative districts in the election, seven candidates are representing councilmanic and countywide districts, and nine candidates are competing for three congressional districts.

“Republicans are back,” said Mykel Harris, Chairman of the Prince George’s Republican Central Committee. “We look forward to a dynamic election and a show of wins this fall.”

State House Minority Leader Tony O’Donnell stated, “Prince George’s Republican Party is twenty-four strong. These candidates show the power of representation. They want to balance the power in the county and the state.”

Republicans plan to increase the number of incumbents to balance the power in the state and county. Only nine Republicans ran for state or county office in 2006, and sixteen Republicans ran in the general election for state, county, or federal office in 2002.
